Daily dairy consumption
Looking at the average daily consumption of dairy in the Netherlands, it is not surprising that milk and milk-drinks topped the ranking, with nearly 150 grams per person per day in the period between 2012 and 2016. Yoghurt came in second place, at roughly 54 gram per day. By comparison, the daily consumption of ice cream in the Netherlands was just under ten grams daily.
Dairy consumption moments
Dairy products are consumed in the Netherlands throughout the entire day. The same study found that dairy consumption is divided almost equally between the four consumption moments breakfast, lunch, dinner and in-between. Breakfast scored the highest, with roughly 28 percent of the total dairy consumption daily.
